Boobook Owl bathing in Pinkerton Forest

Continued monitoring of wildlife in Pinkerton Forest has revealed a Boobook Owl bathing in a water trough on a warm summer night.
Photos taken on recent hot nights (December 2018) show the Boobook both perching on the trough & splashing in the water. There is also a photo that shows the Boobook perched on the rim with a very indistinct photo of what may be a second bird spashing in the water (or this may be just a blur!) The Boobook appears to be a regular visitor during hot nights.
The water trough is a hotspot for wildlife activity, especially in hot weather
The resident Koala returned for a drink on 19th December
