Opening of Bird Week

Presentation by Sean Dooley:   Balam Balam, Melton Library and Learning Hub Thursday, 25th October 6.30-8.30

Sean Dooley has written for TV comedies like Full Frontal, Hamish and Andy and Spicks and Specks, is author of books such as The Big Twitch and Cooking with Baz, and is currently editor of Australian Birdlife magazine. He was also the national birdwatching champion, holding the record for seeing the most birds seen in one year. Sean Dooley is the Birdman. Supper from 5.30pm Grant and Pyke Rooms (Melton Library)

Night Walk at Hannah Watts Park: Creatures of the night                               

Friday 26th October 7.00 pm

A spotlight walk though Hannah Watts Park & along Toolern Creek, starting from the Rotunda carpark. Hannah Watts Park is popular with Melton families for picnics. After dark the nocturnal wildlife emerges. Meet in the carpark at 7.00 pm, beside Toolern Creek, in High St, just east of the shopping centre, opposite the golf course.  Melway Page 337 Ref D9

Chris Lunardi presentation: birds of Eynesbury

Geraldine Kelly: presentation on Botanic Garden island project                                          Sunday 28th October 10.00 am

Geraldine will give her presentation in the pergola beside the lake, followed by a guided walk in the Garden. Melton Botanic Garden is one of Melton’s prime birdwatching sites, after a decade of hard work by the Friends group.
