Brush-tailed Possum at Brookfield

Another photo of the Brush-tailed Possum that has taken up residence in our painted nestboxes at Brookfield, this time illuminated by the morning sun. The poor critter seems somewhat cramped in there. We gunna need a bigger box perhaps!

As the red box appears to be its main place of residence, there may not be any more suitable natural hollows in the park although this would seem unlikely considering the number of old trees here with hollows. Or perhaps it just prefers this box with its easterly aspect facing the warm morning sun.
