Bird Week in Melton

MEG will be hosting Bird Week in Melton in 2017 in partnership with City of Melton, from Wednesday 25th October to Friday 3rd November.

Our theme this year will be migratory birds.

There will be a photographic display of local birdlife by photographer Nora Peters in Melton Library for the month of October as well as a display featuring Bird Week & the history of bird watching in Melton in the library

There will be with a presentation on Lathams Snipe in the Melton Botanic Garden, a Spotlight Walk at Hannah Watts Park & we will even have a presentation on the birds of South Sudan!

Bird Week events

Tuesday 10th October
Display of local bird photographs 6pm-8pm Opening display and sale of pictures by Nora Peters local bird photographer
Display continues until 6 November in Melton Library and Learning Hub

Thursday 26th October
Launch of Bird Week 2017 5.30pm-7.30pm
Display of taxidermied birds
You can take selfies with these bird specimens

Storytelling: The Adventures of Rudolph the Red-necked Stint

Monday 30th October
Night Walk 7.30pm – 8.30pm
Spotlight Walk: Creatures of the Night
Meet at the Rotunda Hannah Watts Park
Please wear sturdy shoes and bring a torch. You will be walking on flat ground.
