Peter Sell (of MEG & Western Land Services) took this photo while working at Melton Gilgai Woodland in Harkness Road, discovering a new species for the Woodland. Jacky Lizards (aka Tree Dragons) are common in Eynesbury Forest. The lizard appears to have had a lucky escape from something as most of its tail is missing!

This makes a total of three reptile species found in Melton Gilgai. A large Brown Snake was seen disappearing into a hole beneath a tree near the southern gate & the severed head of a Common Blue-tongued Lizard was found in the woodland several years ago.

Attached is a photo of a Jacky Lizard in Eynesbury taken by Nora Peters.
